Offer & payment terms

The founding offer for Yaprflow for Mac is a one-time US $7.99 purchase, plus applicable tax. It is not a subscription and does not renew automatically. Stripe Checkout shows the final amount and any tax before you pay.

Your purchase lets you keep using the downloaded app without recurring Yaprflow payments. “Lifetime” describes continued use of the purchased app; it does not promise all future products or features. Promotional prices may change for future buyers.

The app includes unlimited local dictation, clean and exact text modes, transcript history, custom vocabulary, and AI Summary with a configurable prompt. Local dictation works on Intel and Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later.

Apple Intelligence is the default AI provider on eligible Macs with macOS 26 or later and Apple Intelligence enabled. You can also choose OpenAI, OpenRouter, or an installed Ollama model in Settings. Those providers have their own requirements and terms, and cloud services may charge your account separately.

Payment & private download

Stripe handles checkout and payment information. Yaprflow’s checkout server verifies the payment with Stripe before providing access to the Mac download, stored privately with Vercel Blob. Payment and hosting providers process the information necessary to complete purchases, deliver files, and maintain security. See Stripe’s privacy policy and Vercel’s privacy policy.

After Stripe confirms payment, the confirmation page provides your download. A necessary purchase cookie lets you return to that page in the same browser for 30 days. If the cookie expires, you clear site data, or you switch browsers, contact support with the email used at checkout. This browser-access period does not limit use of the purchased Mac app. The app does not require a Yaprflow account or in-app sign-in.

When checkout is labeled “Test mode,” no real charge is made. Test payment details are for testing the payment and download process and are not a live purchase.

Unlimited local usage

The Mac app does not impose a daily, weekly, or monthly dictation word allowance. There are no token credit packs, per-word fees, or usage-based Yaprflow charges for local features.

Processing speed, task size, and available storage depend on your Mac and the capabilities of your selected model. External AI providers can impose their own limits and usage charges.

AI output can contain mistakes. Review transcripts and generated text before using or sharing them.

App privacy

Summary

Yaprflow is designed to keep your dictation private. The apps do not include advertising or cross-app tracking. The Mac app shares limited usage and error counts by default; you can turn this off in Settings. The apps do not send your audio, transcripts, or generated text to the developer.

Microphone and speech recognition

With your permission, Yaprflow accesses the microphone only while you are recording. Audio is processed on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad using speech-recognition models included with the app. Raw microphone audio is not retained after transcription and is not sent to Yaprflow or to a developer-operated server.

Data stored on your device

On macOS, completed transcript text is copied to the system clipboard and stored as Markdown files in Yaprflow's sandboxed app container. Those files may include timestamps, the selected dictation mode, and the name of the application that was active during dictation. Yaprflow also stores your local vocabulary, keyboard shortcut, settings, most recent transcript, and custom AI prompt on your Mac.

On iOS, completed transcript text is copied to the system clipboard and up to three recent transcripts are stored in the app's local preferences for quick access.

This local data remains under your control and is not transmitted to the developer.

Optional AI providers on Mac

Apple Intelligence remains the default for optional AI Summary and transcript metadata on supported Macs. It uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. You may instead select OpenAI, OpenRouter, or Ollama in Settings.

When you run AI Summary with OpenAI or OpenRouter, Yaprflow sends the selected transcript, your prompt, and task instructions directly from your Mac to that provider. The provider processes the request under its own terms and privacy policy and may charge your account. Your API key is saved in the Mac Keychain, not in Yaprflow preferences or on a Yaprflow server.

Automatic archive titles using a selected OpenAI, OpenRouter, or Ollama model are off by default. If you enable them, each new Mac transcript is sent to that model for its title, topic, and description. Existing saved transcripts are not automatically uploaded to a cloud provider for backfill.

Ollama requests go to the Ollama service at localhost:11434. A local Ollama model processes them on your Mac; an Ollama cloud model may send them to Ollama's service. Yaprflow does not send your AI requests or API keys to a developer-operated server.

Mac usage telemetry

The Mac app sends usage telemetry to Aptabase by default unless you turn it off in Settings. Events cover app launches, a possible unexpected exit of the previous run, opening major features, dictation starts and outcomes, AI Summary use, archive-title failures, and opening a feedback email draft. Failure details use fixed categories, and recording durations are broad ranges. An interrupted run can also result from a forced quit or power loss; it is not a crash report.

Events include the app version and build, macOS major and minor version, and a random session identifier that changes when the app launches or after an hour of inactivity. Yaprflow does not send a persistent device identifier, audio, transcript or generated text, AI prompts, vocabulary, feedback messages, the active app name, or free-form error text. Turning telemetry off stops new events and cancels pending requests. The telemetry service receives ordinary network information needed to process requests; see Aptabase's privacy policy.

Telemetry is only available in Mac builds configured with an Aptabase app key. It is not included in the iOS source app.

Permissions and deletion

On macOS, you can revoke microphone access in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. The Folder button in History reveals local transcript files so you can review or delete them. To remove all macOS data, quit and uninstall Yaprflow, then delete its sandbox container.

On iOS, you can revoke microphone access in Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Choosing Delete App, rather than Offload App, removes the app and its locally stored data.

Support email

The in-app feedback form prepares an email draft with your message, Yaprflow version, and operating-system version. It does not attach a transcript or recording, and nothing is sent until you review and send the draft. If you contact support, you voluntarily send the developer your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to include. That information is used to respond to your request and may be retained as needed to resolve it or meet legal and security obligations. You do not need to send a transcript or recording to receive support.

Website & browser demo

When you choose “Start talking”

Your browser asks for microphone permission. If you grant it and start the demo, your audio is sent to OpenAI’s transcription service to generate text. The text is displayed in the current browser page. You can stop recording and revoke microphone permission in your browser at any time.

The website server establishes the transcription session; it does not save your demo audio or transcript. The demo transcript is not stored by this page across reloads. If you copy it, a copy remains on your clipboard according to your device’s behavior. Provider-side handling is governed by OpenAI’s privacy policy and its API data controls; the Mac app’s local-processing promise does not apply to this website demo.

The browser experiment is free to visitors and has abuse-prevention limits. Those website limits do not apply to the Mac app’s unlimited word usage.

Website delivery and logs

Vercel hosts this website. Like other website infrastructure, hosting services receive connection details such as your IP address, browser information, requested pages, and request timing to deliver the site and maintain its security. The browser demo uses your connection address for temporary rate limiting.

The landing page requests fonts from Google Fonts. That service receives the network information necessary to respond to the request. The demonstration video is served from this website.

Necessary purchase cookie

When Stripe returns you to the website, the server stores your private checkout reference in a purchase cookie and redirects you to a confirmation page whose address contains no checkout reference. Older confirmation links are handled the same way before the page loads. The cookie lasts 30 days, is limited to the host that set it, and is sent only over a secure connection. Page scripts cannot read it. The server checks the purchase with Stripe each time you request its status or download.

This cookie supports access to your purchase and is separate from analytics or advertising cookies. Declining or withdrawing optional tracking does not remove it. Clearing it removes this browser’s saved access, so contact support if you need help returning to your download.

Optional analytics, marketing, and your choice

Google Analytics and Meta marketing tracking are enabled by default on yaprflow.com and www.yaprflow.com when you have no saved tracking choice. We do not show an automatic cookie prompt. Open “Cookie settings” in the footer to turn tracking off or change it: “Turn off tracking” turns both categories off, “Analytics only” keeps Google Analytics on and Meta off, and “Allow all” enables both. Your saved choices, including opt-outs, continue to apply on later visits. You can turn tracking off and still use the website, buy the app, and access your download. These website settings are separate from the Mac app’s usage telemetry.

While analytics is enabled, our website sends Google page views, offer clicks, demonstration-video starts and completions, checkout starts, verified purchases, and download-button clicks. The events sent by our code use a canonical page path without query parameters, fragments, or referring URLs, and predefined fields such as purchase currency, amount, tax, and a hashed transaction reference. A purchase event is sent only after the server verifies a paid live purchase with Stripe.

Google’s automatic Enhanced Measurement is also enabled. Depending on the interaction, it can measure additional activity such as scrolling, outbound links, file-download links, and form interactions, including related link or form information. Collection is therefore not limited to the custom events listed above. We have kept Google’s email redaction enabled and configured URL query-parameter redaction for checkout session references, signed-download credentials, client secrets, payment references, tokens, and signatures.

While marketing is enabled, the Meta Pixel uses advertising cookies and browser activity to help measure Yaprflow advertisements and attribute visits and purchases. We send page views, a landing-page content view, an event when an available live checkout is submitted, and a purchase event only after the server verifies a paid live purchase. Purchase details are limited to the actual amount excluding tax, currency, and a hashed event reference. Meta’s automatic configuration and advanced matching are disabled for this integration.

The custom events written for this website exclude email addresses, audio, transcripts, checkout session identifiers, and private download URLs. The confirmation page loads only after its checkout reference has been removed from the address; private signed download addresses are handled by the server and are not placed in the page. Google and Meta receive ordinary connection and browser information needed to provide their services, and their optional cookies can recognize a browser. Google advertising signals, advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization remain disabled even when Meta marketing is enabled.

Choices you make in “Cookie settings” are saved in your browser’s local storage. The initial default is not saved as a choice you made. Google Analytics and Meta cookies are used while their respective categories are enabled. The website does not save purchase references in local storage; the necessary purchase cookie is separate. Turning a category off stops its further collection and clears its cookies; it does not remove events already sent or the necessary purchase cookie.

The page does not store your microphone transcript in browser local storage. Your browser may cache website files, and service providers may retain operational and analytics data under their own settings and policies. Clicking an ad on another platform is subject to that platform’s privacy practices.

Website providers may process connection information in countries other than yours. See Vercel’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy for their practices.

Cost illustrations

The website’s receipt illustrates three hypothetical subscriptions costing US $10 per month each, or $30 per month together. The annual illustration uses a hypothetical $10 monthly subscription, costing $120 after one year and $240 after two years.

Illustrated savings subtract Yaprflow’s displayed one-time price from the hypothetical subscription cost over the same period. Percentages are rounded down. Optional external AI costs are excluded.

These examples are not competitor prices, a comparison of equivalent features, or a promise that you will cancel existing subscriptions. Your actual costs and savings depend on which services you choose.

For purchase, refund, or download questions, email tim@yaprflow.com with the email used at checkout and a description of the issue. Do not send payment card details. No standard refund window has been published for the direct-download offer.

Install the Mac app

Open the downloaded disk image, drag Yaprflow into Applications, then launch it. Allow microphone access when prompted. No App Store account is required.

Microphone & shortcut help

In System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone, make sure Yaprflow is enabled. If Command-T conflicts with another app, record a different shortcut in Yaprflow Settings. Select the language you plan to speak for more reliable recognition.

AI Summary & history

Apple Intelligence requires macOS 26 or later, an eligible Mac, and Apple Intelligence enabled. OpenAI, OpenRouter, and Ollama can be selected on earlier supported macOS versions. Core dictation works without an AI provider. In History, use Folder to reveal your local Markdown transcripts.

Send feedback

The app’s feedback form prepares an email draft for you to review and send. It includes your description and the app and operating-system versions, but does not attach transcripts or recordings.

Your local transcripts remain under your control; we cannot retrieve or delete files from your Mac remotely. You can revoke browser microphone access and reload the page to clear the displayed demo transcript.
