Privacy Policy

Summary

Yaprflow is designed to keep your dictation private. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking. Yaprflow does not collect or send your audio, transcripts, or personal data to the developer.

Microphone and speech recognition

With your permission, Yaprflow accesses the microphone only while you are recording. Audio is processed on your Mac using speech-recognition models included with the app. Raw microphone audio is not retained after transcription and is not sent to Yaprflow or to a developer-operated server.

Data stored on your Mac

Completed transcript text is copied to the system clipboard and stored as Markdown files in Yaprflow's sandboxed app container. Those files may include timestamps, the selected dictation mode, and the name of the application that was active during dictation. Yaprflow also stores your local vocabulary, keyboard shortcut, settings, most recent transcript, and custom AI prompt on your Mac.

This local data remains under your control and is not transmitted to the developer.

Apple Intelligence

On supported Macs, optional AI Summary and transcript metadata features use Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. Yaprflow does not send the transcript or generated result to a developer-operated server. Availability and processing are governed by your macOS and Apple Intelligence settings.

Permissions and deletion

You can revoke microphone access at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. The Folder button in History reveals the local transcript files so you can review or delete them. To remove all Yaprflow data, delete its sandbox container after quitting and uninstalling the app.

Website

The Yaprflow website does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or tracking cookies. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, so GitHub may process ordinary web-request information according to the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Children

Yaprflow does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated policy will be posted here with a new effective date.
